-
- 0.0 Introduction
-
- This is a little utility that prints a histogram table showing the
- frequency of use of the different palette colours in an IFF ILBM
- type picture. It also prints the dimensions of the picture and the
- exact specification of the palette.
-
- 1.0 Running Hist
-
- Hist can only be run from the CLI (this will probably be fixed soon).
- There are two ways of invoking it. First just typing:
-
- hist
-
- will result in the copyright notice, short instructions, and the version
- number being printed. By typing a command of the following format:
-
- hist picture
-
- Hist will process the "picture" file, and when it is done, will print
- out a chart showing the colour, its r,g,b composition, the number of
- times it was used, and the percentage of the picture that it comprises.
-
- Note: the time to process a 320x200x32 colour picture is about 30 seconds.
-
- 2.0 Memory Usage
-
- Hist must load the picture into ram, so users with only 512K and lots of
- other things running might have probelms. Hist works REAL NICE on a 2.5Meg
- Amiga!
-
- 3.0 Support
-
- Any comments, suggestions, or bug reports you might care to make will be
- gratefully received. If you are interested in seeing this program improve
- much send a contribution ($10-$20 to me at the address above). My current
- policy on improving the program is to release a new version for every 5
- contributions I receive, or when I need a new feature!
